The text is a statement about the relief funding that OUTsurance, a South African insurance company, has committed for its service providers who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Here are some more details and facts about this initiative:
- OUTsurance COVID-19 response plan: As part of its Helping SA OUT campaign, OUTsurance has committed R102 million towards a comprehensive COVID-19 response plan that includes relief for OUTsurance service providers, who are impacted by the inability to work, as well as for clients who may experience financial difficulty during this tough time1. The plan also provides protective equipment for healthcare workers and makes a contribution to the Solidarity Response Fund, announced by the President1.
- OUTsurance service providers: OUTsurance service providers are independent contractors who provide services such as plumbing, electrical, towing, glass replacement, and more to OUTsurance clients2. They are not employed by OUTsurance but are part of its network of preferred suppliers2. OUTsurance has allocated R40 million to support these service providers during the lockdown period, by paying them a monthly amount based on their average monthly income from OUTsurance in 20191.
Summary: OUTsurance has committed relief funding for its service providers who are unable to work due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as part of its broader plan to support the country’s efforts to fight the virus and its economic impact. This is a generous and responsible gesture from the insurance company.
